ABOUT APFDC LTD.


INTRODUCTION

The National Commission on Agriculture (N.C.A.) has suggested setting up of Forest Development Corporations in every state which will be able to raise institutional finance for raising man-made forests so as to meet the domestic and industrial needs of forest produce and reclothe the degraded forest areas and bring them under productive use.

The State of Andhra Pradesh which has a geographical area of 2,75,068 Sq. Kms is the 5th largest state in the country. Forests occupy 63,814 Sq. Kms with rich flora and fauna. Obviously, Andhra Pradesh has to take its share in improving its forest cover.

Pursuant to the recommendations of N.C.A., the Andhra Pradesh Forest Development Corporation Limited (APFDC) was established in 1975 to cater to the needs of wood based industries as well as domestic needs.

The objectives  have been re-defined :-

FINANCIAL DETAILS

Thus, Andhra Pradesh Forest Development Corporation Ltd., (APFDC) is a Public Sector Company registered under the Indian Companies Act. The Authorised Share Capital of APFDC is Rs.2500 lakhs. The Paid Up Share Capital is Rs.2181.87 lakhs. The Cumulative Profit as on 31.3.2007 is Rs.5509  lakhs.
